Our gates are operated by hydraulic hoisting systems, but also mechanical rope, screw or chain pulley hoists can also be provided.

The type of lifting device selected depends upon the gate size, the unbalanced head under which the gate will operate, speed of gate travel and frequency of operation. Selection of the lifting device will depend on

The unbalanced head under which the gate is to operate,

The frequency of operation,

The distance the slide is to be moved.

Hydraulic Hoist

The design of the hydraulic system, including the necessary valving, pump, motor, and tubing are the responsibility of the gate manufacturer. The pump and motor must be of adequate size to deliver the operating fluid under the required pressure and in a sufficient amount to lift the gate in the time specified. Tubing must be of adequate size to transmit the required volume of oil to operate the gate at the specified speed.
